For those of you that do not know me, my name is Kelsey Arbor Herglotz and I am currently in my third year at the University of Waterloo. I am majoring in International Development (INDEV) and minoring and Geography and Environmental Management. I was born in Toronto and grew up in and around London, Ontario. My permanent home is in a small town outside of London named Komoka (do not worry if you have no idea where it is, not many people do). I went to Medway High School and loved every minute of it. Go Cowboys! Summer camp was always a big part of my life growing up. One of my favourite places in the world is Camp Couchiching, an overnight camp that I attended and worked at for many years. It truly is an amazing place full of even more amazing people!
There have been many amazing chapters in my life so far but this September marks the start of one of the biggest. In September I will be going to Africa for an 8 month placement as part of my degree. I am so excited, but there is a lot to do between now and then.
I wanted to create a blog to keep all my family and friends involved with how this process is coming along. I also want to provide helpful information to future INDEV students, to help them when they are starting to think about their placements.
I will do my best to keep this blog as exciting as possible and to keep the number of spelling and grammatical mistakes to a minimum.
